There's no shortage of conversation in the mass media about the images that we see and their impact on us. We read in Chapter 2 many of the theories of how mass media impacts us.

Now, let's turn to some of the critiques of images of women. Magazines receive a lot of criticism for their use of photoshop and presenting photographs of celebrities and models that are so heavily edited, and, as a result, present an image that is unattainable.

Your book talks on page 116 about the response that Glamour magazine received when they published an image closer to what a real woman looks like.
